Hi! I’m Kim. I grew up in the small town of Monticello in Northeast Missouri. I grew up even more when I moved to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri. I spent almost 10 years in Columbia then took my talents on the road to move with my husband’s career and have been on the move ever since. Some of my favorite spots to call home have been Northern Virginia and Italy.

I am married to an Army guy. 😉 We met in grade school and against all odds married shortly after our college graduations. We live a crazy, always-moving, always-something-new, military life. My full-time job these days is keeping our household running and being a momma. I still love to work and keep myself involved in a million other things at all times, but those things are not quite the same as they were when I started this journey!

Taking a break from the traditional “work” I knew in my early career and traveling the European countryside was an eye-opening experience. Living abroad changed me. It made me realize that maybe running/conquering the world wasn’t the most important thing in my life. Maybe…just maybe…taking time to stop and actually smell the roses [ instead of shoving them into arrangements as fast as I could ALL. DAY. LONG. ] was just as fulfilling as anything else I’d ever accomplished.

Although floral work takes a little bit of a back seat these days, I squeeze in as much freelance work as my floral schedule will allow and from time-to-time take on a few fun projects through my floral business, Florassentials. 

In 2010 I started a wedding and decorating business called Florassentials. With a business partner we worked on it part time between our other jobs and did weddings and put up Christmas decorations all over the state of Missouri. We worked like crazy and it was an amazing experience!

When I started traveling with my husbands career I slowed things down a bit and now operate in a little different capacity! My home base is in Missouri…but I also operate out of our current duty station…wherever that happens to be at the time! Services I offer are below.

Team Building/Floral Design Workshops

Looking for a new team building exercise for your work group? Or a fun way to entertain a group of people? Custom classes created to suit the occasion. Hands-on or informational floral courses available. Prices start at $200 for a one-hour class. Hands-on classes will have additional fees.

Wine & Design Event

A fun way to spend time with friends and walk away with something wonderful to display at home! Many design options available. Great for bridal showers/parties, birthdays, informal gatherings, etc. Prices start at $35/person and will vary depending on the design project. Wreaths, centerpieces, swags, garlands, fresh flower arrangements, corsages, hairpieces, flower crowns and bouquets are just a small example of projects. Minimum group of 5 required. Customer will need to provide space, wine and snacks.

Custom Pieces, Wreaths & On-Site Decorating

Have a floral or decorating project you need a little help with? New custom floral designs, re-vamping old designs, installing in-home or office seasonal/holiday decorations…are a small sample available services.

Faux designs, including wreaths, start at $40. Custom orders always welcome and specials offerings will be listed on Instagram/Facebook.

Christmas decor booking starts in September/October. Can install existing decor, provide new decor, or a little of both. Decorating service is $25/hour, please message for a custom quote.

Wedding & Event Florals

Designs for everything from personal pieces { bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres } to ceremony and reception pieces. Although all pieces are individually priced and custom estimates are prepared after an initial consultation, below are pricing guidelines for designs.

• Personal pieces – start at $500, up to $2000+ depending on type of flowers requested and number of pieces needed.
• Floral centerpieces – start at $40 each, up to $200 for elaborate pieces.
• Large, ceremony pieces – start at $150 each, up to $800+ for elaborate pieces.
